I recently bought a 48 Chevrolet Maple Leaf with a gvw of 15500lbs, Im looking for part numbers for wheel seals, pinion seals and transmission output shaft seal, does anyone have this info?

welcome to t he site! Mine are newer, someone should be along shortly that is more familiar with the AD trucks and have some part #s for you.

I dont think it will let me post pictures yet. its got 38000 miles on it and no rust except surface rust on bottom of cab and fenders, just working on getting it a little more road worth.

Hy Jaredm, welcome, could you post your serial number and tell us if your truck has a single or two speed rear axle please?

I will get the serial number this afternoon. Yes it is a 2 speed, I ordered a seal for a eaton 16600 rear, hopefully its right.

so the seal I ordered for a eaton 16600 was about 0.5" to big, back to square one. The serial# 8167300762 and it has a 2 speed. any help would be appreciated

Hy Jaredm, the front hub seal was originally a felt, some seal manufacturers list a rubber type replacement some don't, I can't find a parts book that lists a rubber replacement for a 16 series 1948 Chevrolet Maple Leaf (2 1/2 ton truck) but if you disassemble and give us the I.D., O.D., and thickness we should be able to find a seal for you. The rest of these are O.E.M. numbers crossed to Napa numbers
Pinion seal O.E.M. 2082925 = Napa NOS 20098
Inner rear hub seal O.E.M. 5830526 = Napa NOS 33306
Transmission output seal O.E.M. 591448 = Napa NOS 22336

Thanks for the help, I will try that napa inner rear seal number. The OD is 5" and ID is 3.250. Any idea of what rear axle it might have? I am assuming its not a eaton 16600 as the seal for that axle was wrong.

I think I found a inner hub seal thanks to 3b, its on its way. While trying to bleed the brakes this afternoon, one of the front flex hoses blew, does anyone know if the hoses on my 2.5 ton will be the same as the 1/2 ton trucks?

Check out rock auto they list a few and it looks like they are the same for different models.

Hy Jaredm, the O.E.M. front brake hose part number is 2002111 which crosses to Napa part number UP 24458, hope that helps.

Glad others were able to help. If you want to PM me I have the Canadian shop manual for 48 to 51 Chevy and GM trucks. It is ambiguous for parts info stuff, thats a different book I think.
