Putting a power disc brake setup under the floor on a 55. Debating on going with carpet, but maybe a floor mat would be better?

Any pictures of carpet with the whole cut in it? Trying to see how clean we can make it using carpet.

Opinions? Thanks

I don't have disc brakes but if I did I still like the M/C where I put it. Out of the way! ...its a 52 panel but here is what I did. Not too fancy but it serves the purpose.. I used a rubber floor mat and just turn it back if I want to check the M/C. http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r19/LutherParris/52Panel/MasterCylhole001.jpg

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.

On my '56 restorod I used a remote dual reservoir mounted on the fire wall and this billet MC cover. Works great...without this you can use a mirror and squeeze bottle with a long straw to fill the MC from underneath if you want.

Thanks for the ideas. I was looking at this finished edge molded carpet and thought I might be able to put some velcrow on the edge and pull it up to get to the master cylinder.

I used a remote reservoir kit as well in my 59 Suburban, not sure what I will end up with on the 58 2-ton, probably glue the carpet to some thick pad and as mentioned above, just pull it back when I need to check the master Cyl. Gluing the carpet to some thick jute pad (heavier fiber/hair type, not rubber) will make it lay a lot more like a rubber floor mat and not bunch up or wrinkle.
