Carl,

I understand completely! It was between Mother's Day/wedding anniversary or homecoming. Needless to say, I decided to stay married since she paid for my truck to get painted. Not to mention, she just bought me another dream truck......2016 Chevy 2500HD diesel in order to pull my truck around if I would prefer.

Macungie, PA, Carl. Father's Day Weekend.

It's exactly like Homecoming. ... Well, except that it's not at HQ ... There won't be much actual wrenching .... and there will be a lot of big trucks and guys who aren't stovebolters ... And trains! Lots of trains .... smile

Trains - did someone say trains ? Yes - Macungie is right next to what was known as "The Valley". A great railroad now absorbed into the Norfolk Southern system headquartered in the fine Commonwealth of Virginia. For those of us into mechanical things - Look up the "NS 611J". It's a J-class locomotive, last of its kind restored to road condition. Last week she went through Front Royal, You can find her running balls out to Culpepper and Manassas. You have not lived until you've ridden the head end of one of these beasts. I rode the Milwaukee Road 261 (yes 261) for about 200 miles about 2 years ago out of St. Paul. Another fine machine. Go get your Stovebolt alongside one of the fan trip routes in Virginia. You will be guaranteed to be on the front cover of the Newspaper.

Oh yeah - Homecoming, My oldest graduated university that weekend. For some reason they couldn't change the date. Neither would John LOL.

Gotta go to work now......On the railroad. May all your targets be green, safe travels. Or on the radio we would say: "Headend 261, proceed west, no form D's, highball to Milwaukee, 2 to go" - The whistle goes twice and off we go. Joe

I too was sad to have missed the Homecoming, I tried to get a transport in the area, but ended up more than 1000 miles the other direction. Hopefully next year, I would like to meet everybody!

Missed it too. I really had fun last year. Last minute trip to Florida to move a boat for a friend that I could't get out of.
