Any advice on removing the windshield in a 1958 Chevy.
I have already removed the SS trim. The gasket is only 5 years old and I hope to save it and reuse.

| | | | | Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 3,458 Extreme Gabster | | Extreme Gabster Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 3,458 | It's pretty hard to save and reuse a gasket, but if you work a flat stick under the gasket from the inside and work it over the pinch weld while gently pushing out the window you may be able to remove it without cutting it or breaking the glass.

I've removed more than a couple of windshields from TF trucks but I have never attempted to save the seel. As Josiah sug- gested but I'd go after it with a couple of plastic paint sticks (no splintering) and some soapy water. Good luck!
