A friend of my'n purchased a cab that is supposed to be a 1966 Chevrolet. He was given two different serial nos.
5C9360460594B5
0C91405603161A
I have been searching and trying links but have not had any luck.
Maybe they don't belong to the cab he has.
Any help would be great.
PS..
Just found a link to www.67-72chevytrucks.com that should be helpful to anyone with a vin problem.
Unfortunately it is not working for me.
Thanks Len

'67's were the model change, '63's were a minor cab change, does it matter that much?

Thanks Ed.. Yes it matters for the registration, if the Cab is from a dump truck it will cost him about $250.00 more to reg. it

60-63 has the knee knocker/wrap around windshield. 64-66 flat windshield.

Vin no.2: may be Canadian GM 1960 Panel, 6 cylinder, less than 6K GVW.

Vin no.1: may be Canadian GM 1965 stepside, 6 cylinder, B5 ?

"Given" two serial no's? By whom? What type of document were the SerNo's on? What is "their" explanation of why they gave two. Search pics of 60-66 cabs here in gallery to confirm shape. Why no vin tag on door jamb/kick panel? Was he given a title? What do you want to know? Just the year or what? Obviously if it's a panel you would know that. So if windshield is "flat" type, go with 1965 Vin/SerNo.

General commentary : If SerNo's are on anything other than a title, with no matching Cab Vin plate , those number are not worth the paper they are written on.

The guy purchased a cab and was handed two id plates, there was no plate on the cab and no explanation why there were two plates.. This was an old project someone started and gave up on. As far as we know the cab may have passed through a number of people before it came our way. There is no paper work with it. He was told at the Motor Reg. that it can be registered as Built truck. We wanted to know what, year/ size/model/tonnage the numbers give. Hope that answers your questions and thanks for the help.

Howdy feeling a bit embarrassed here turns out my friend has four plates in all tow sets of two. He has managed to find out locally that one set is for a 1960 panel . You got that one Bartamos. The other we don't know.
Here is the layout of the ID plates

General Motors of Canada Limited
made in Canada
vehicle identification no. D.D,
5C93604605954B
ENGINE 125132005

Second plate

MODEL C93604
F.T.O. 55966
COLOURFC769
SCHED. 71
ITIM 163

Like I also said: 1965 Stepside. The "B" suffix is 6001-10,000 GVW.
Don't have the paint code or engine ID.
GM of Canada, Oshawa, Ont.

Did you misspell "tow" and "ITIM" ??
Is it "two" and "Item"?

You have also changed the number from 5C9360460594B5 to
5C93604605954B which makes it a "B" suffix 6001-10,000 GVW.
Are you trying to trick me? Please be careful with those numbers if you want serious help. We could search for weeks looking for the wrong numbers for you.
