A little over a month away and I was wondering what kind of projects might be on the agenda.
Unless I find something else.
I should have a "51" that has not been started in about 18 + or - years.
I'll do the pre work.
Battery to make sure it will turn over.
Change the oil.
Pony tank for fuel.
Something in the radiator, maybe.
Bought it at an auction about three years age and when I picked it up, met the 80 plus year owner.
He said he drove it to where it was at when I bought it at the auction about 15 years ago. It also came with a clear title.

Team Midwest will officially be entered. I forgot who said they would be on the MidWest team. If nobody steps up, I'll go at it with Leo.

Another project that I hope to help with would be working on Steves new truck "Frank". Has no brakes and will probably need a good tune up. He said it sat in a barn for some crazy amount of time. Like 30 years and it is running. Got to be something to fix on it.

I may have spoke too soon about the Midwest project.
A secret mission is being considered and I may be involved.

What other project are being considered?

Thanks Mike. Yeah he has sat in a barn for 30 years without being started. Jesse did change the oil ,plugs ,cap and coil and put a fuel pump with an inline fuel filter. He had the idea of running a gas can and a line from the cab lol. I will clean the gas tank this weekend so it will have fresh gas and new lines to be safe. The gas can on the bed works but I don't want any accidents . See ya soon !

I'm thinking of changing out my single master cylinder for the dual setup. Keeping the drums. Is this a possibility?

Anyone know anything about leaf springs. Maybe new rear springs on flappy fenders might be on the yard. Trying to make it happen prior but I might not want to deprive you all of doing my chores while I supervise. Otherwise I need to fill radiator with some fluid. Maybe I will take the weekend off and watch TV.

Big News!!!

A nice donation to Stovebolt yesterday -- A Task Force GMC 230 (2-ton?) truck! Looks like a parts donor, but who knows? The plan is to have it here for Homecoming to decide if it stays together or comes apart. It has a Chevy 235 or possibly a 261 in it for Mike R. Frank -- It has wheels for you (not tubeless, but still better than RH-5's). If we part it out, I'm claiming the front clip for shop art.

Hambone, more fun than lounging in front of the TV would be helping your buddy John do oil changes ...

I got a hold of a pin striping wheel. If anyone wants to do their rims or anything else, bring your own paint. I have to figure this thing out between now and homecoming.

Leo -- that sounds cool! Tell us what paint to get!

And big news from HQ -- the blast cabinet is fully operational again and up and running (the dust collection system took a lightening strike a few months ago and it exploded. All repaired now). So if you have pieces to blast, bring 'em!

The friend who lent it to me said to simply get Tremclad paint, I think it's called Rustoleum in the US. Not in a rattle can. One ounce will go a long ways.

After a 4 year build , I just took my first ride down the road on March 31 I do have a few bugs to work out . Front end alignment , and a good tune up if possible.
Have a few other small things hoping to get help with also. I hear this is the group to check with.
Also as for the paint for striping tool Eastwood sells One Shot paint for pin striping. May find it elsewhere also.

"I hear this is the group to check with" ... and this is the place to be. Last year, we never even stopped for a group picture. Lot of wrenching. There was some driving and some eating - but even that -- seems like WRENCHING was the draw - even into the night.

It always amazes me!

If anyone needs help lining up the hood/fenders of an AD, I will be willing to help to get it done.
No Task Force though. I don't think that can be done!
I need someone to help me fix a cold engine hydraulic lifter (just one) rattle on a '53/Powerglide 235.

I would also like to put a okie bushing in mine if time allows , The truck body is a 48 but its on a 52 running gear. If anyone has a okie bushing removal tool I could use or buy could you bring it with you. Thanks

No its in the truck.

Good news. Found the source of my vibration yesterday so the okie install will not be needed.
Took a short road trip to get my first tank of gas and all seems good.
It makes you a little nervous on your first few trips out but all is working and nothing fell off yet so I'll call that a success.

I too could use help with hood alignment. I will be happy to get in line.

I'm looking forward to a Sweet carburetor and timing adjustment on the 51 GMC if time allows.

I'm sending an old engine with my Dad to show and he'll have his 25' wooden boat on the water and offering rides.
I'd like to go myself long enough to look at the engines and say "hi" to some folks, I'm told it is about a 20-30 minute ride over there in an old truck.

Oh yes, drive.
It runs pretty well but I'm sure you can get a few more MPH out of it. I wouldn't mind another MPG if there is one.

Grigg I had planned to drive over that bridge for a quick visit. I will make it a flight of two.
