For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 49 Member | | Member Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 49 | I am thinking of painting my '39 to look like an original 66 year old truck complete with surface rust on the hood and roof. I would like to use a very low sheen paint which will still preserve the steel and faux paint in some rust, fading, primer bleed through etc. I want a low maintenance finish. Anybody ever try this? I thought I'd play with this idea and later down the road put a decent paint job on. I also want to put my company logo on the doors with very faded lettering. Any imput would be appreciated. | | | | | Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,438 Extreme Gabster | | Extreme Gabster Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,438 | I know it can be done but I don't know how. I saw a Ford coupe done that way at a show. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 66 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 66 | We had this discussion a while back and there may be something in the archives that may be helpfull. I saw an article in an issue of street rodder magazine in which they did this to an early F**d pickup and they showed the whole process in detail, very cool.I believe in the following issue the also showed how the lettering was done. I cannot find the issues but i believe i posted the month in one of the previos threads...........Good luck Dale

Maybe it is on the magazine website? | | | | | Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 66 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 66 | Found it, November 2003 street rodder magazine.www.streetrodderweb.com Hope this helps............Dale
