I have no idea where the wiring should be routed thru firewall,as po had cobbled the whole thing
The assembly manual shows some of it,but not much detail.
Does someone have a detail of where the different looms should come through ? firewall

This is the firewall from my '51 Chevy. First of all it has the windshield washer accessory, so try to ignore that. Also, your fuse box will be longer, but location is the same. The rest of cable and wires should be same locations. Hope this helps.

thanks, can you tell me what item wires are coming out of which hole,
Are the tailight and gas gage wires coming through at the hole nest to voltage regulator

The tailight wires come out of the hole to the right (in the picture) of the voltage regulator, and hook to the fuse box (small black rectangle). The ignition harness comes out of the hole to the left of the voltage regulator. The gas sender wire exits the bottom of the cab and re-enters with the harness to the right of the voltage regulator.

Are you making your own harness or using a pre-made one?

So most of the harness,except engine comes out the top drivers side hole ?

If you look in the FAM there is a picture of the firewall and all the holes are listed and what goes where. root

i hope this helps scroll down untill you get to the 49 click it and you can zoom in so close you can read the fine writing it helped me a lot now that i'm rewiring my 49 3100

"FAM" ? OH, factory assembly manual

mine is a little vague, what section and page are we looking at ??

So the holes in my fenderwalls are .790 and none of the grommets supplied fit in those holes,and none of the assortment I purchased fit.
Does anyone know where to get correct grommet ?

Fenderwalls? Headlight wiring? So classic parts, part no. 37-821 not correct? Jim Carter LG-106 ? If not, and you have a 1949, your holes are wrong or someone sent you the wrong grommets or you asked for the wrong grommets or you didn't try hard enough to fit. What is the groove OD of the grommets you have and where did you get them?

thanks , It is a 49 3100, I was able to re machine the grommets I had to fit.

now on to figure my horn...one step at a time
