I also have a '46 half ton, on which I put approx 750 miles each season (Apr- Nov). It is 100% original. It has become quite bouncy/bouncy. Do you recommend rebuildng lever-style shocks (which are evidently leaking) or replace those with modern conventional shocks?

Neither fluid deteriorate the seal nor did they swell.
