Well I have been viewing here for about a year as i have been building. A Canadian 1950 gmc 1/2 . Got her up and running a while back. Will post pics as soon as I learn how. Thanks for all the info. it was much needed.

can216, welcome to the Stovebolt. A 1950 was my very first truck back in '71. Wish I still had it.

Thanks for having me. I found this 5 window in the back of a neighbours yard. That was 25 years ago. I pulled it home after being told it ran when it was parked. 20 years earlier. After a new battery some gas in the tank and diesel down the spark plugs. I turned it over and she fired up. Well my dad and I went for a rundown the gravel road no brakes and all. Pulled her back into the shed where she rested until feb.2015. At which point I lifted the back with the skid steere and push it into the main shop. So I bought it when I was about 30 and now I'm over 50 . My wife has been with me through it all ya almost 25 years of walking around it in the garage. And never a thing done to it. So like I said in Feb. I started on her. Fuel in the tank never even cleaned it out. Pressured the tank up with air and some diesel down the spark plugs. Hell it worked the first time! New battery and she fired right up. She was in the shop less than a half hour since I pushed her in. I backed her out of the shop and scooted around the yard and down the road. This truck is so cool love having it.

Lots of great advice on here, I've had some luck finding information on the Canadian made trucks but it's limited.

welcome to the site! It is cool when they fire right up! Both my 6400's did as well, although I don't think they had been sitting that long (owners said 4 or 5 years, which a lot of times means 5-10!)

Thanks for all the great welcomes. It's good to be part of the community. A big thanks to the forums. I got my vac wipers working with everyones old posts. One of the best parts of the truck. Oh and doyle. Weburn is a hot bed for old vehicles. But then you more than likely already know that. And yes they all have been sittin only about 5 years. Oh and ran when parked.
