I picked up an original all numbers matching (or as far as I could tell) 1949 chevy 1/2 ton truck it has a straight 6 in it and I was wandering if someone knew of an electronic ignition for it ? I have looked all morning and I find stuff for the 55s and up but nothing from the 49 to 54 stuff. Thank you guys in advance

Deve on here has one, '55's are the same except some have juice lifters.

'37 GMC T-18 w/ DD 4-53T, RTO-610, 6231 aux., '95 GMC running gear, full disc brakes, power steering, 22.5 wheels and tires.
'47 GMC 1 ton w/ 302, NP-540, 4wd, full width Blazer front axle.
'54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed.
'55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.

You might want to post your engine serial number (pressed into the block behind the distributor).

If you have a 1949 engine, it has mechanical lifters.

Do you still have a 6v system?

Pertronics has a kit to change over to electronic.

yes........well it had it some one robbed the generator voltage regulator and rediator off of it si im thinking ill just do a 12volt swap
