Hi all and thanks for taking me in. I was a member a few years ago and got a lot from the forum so it's good to be back. I had a '66 C10 back then but moved it on to build a glass bodied '39 Dodge. Unfortunately that also had to go in favour of buying a van to get my band and equipment around Europe. However since starting to do more solo work I am now in the market for a truck in my life again and the search is on for an AK All the best from south east UK Andy
A few things have changed since you were here last. You'll need three posts before you won't be "moderated" anymore. Just post whatever and it will be painless.
Do you remember your old screen name? Maybe we can uncover it and you'll have your old number.
Welcome back. Want to hear more about the truck search.

Road Dog, welcome to the Stovebolt from a just plain old dog!! Great to have you back. Keep and eye on the Trucks for Sale Forum. Awwww shucks, we knew you'd be back. LOL
Thanks or the warm welcome. Hambone, the 60-66 sure were great years. They say if you remember them you were. Personally I don't remember them but I was conceived and born in them so I guess that makes me a good vintage. Peggy, it sure has changed and looks an even happier place. The Greasy Spoon could get a bit fiery when I was last here but you seem to have a handle on that frying pan now. My name on here then was LimeyC10. I met a guy on here that I'm still in touch with and he even came over to the UK and visited. I ended up using his name in a trucking song I wrote that came a favourite in the live set. Achipmunk, I sure will. I just missed out on a 37 half ton the other week. By the time I got the funds together the guy had sold. Old trucks make just crazy money over here but I'm sure I'll find something within budget
welcome 4565, do you listen to country music while driving your ride?

Hi Joker, usually only listen to talk radio in the big wheels. British radio ain't up to much. On the road with the band we tend not to listen to anything coz we would never agree what we want on. I like a lot of old timey country, bluegrass, gospel, blues and folk especially from the 30s. The stuff I write for the band we dub as trash country which is country based but with a bit of attitude. A bit like Bob Wayne and Hank III. One big influence on my writing has been C W McCall. His stories and use of language is great Andy
Welcome back! C.W. McCall is one of my favorites. My wild ride was on the Grapevine Hill in California- - - -120-something MPH at the bottom of the 6-mile 6% grade hill. A driver should actually check his brake adjustment in that "brake check" area at the top of the hill, not just cruise on through like I did!

roger that road dog, I guess one of my hard country favorites would be David Alan Cole... probably has trash country covered really well..lol

You're spot on Joker, DAC is a big influence on the scene. I gave a nod to him, and others, when I wrote the song Truckerspeed. We have never recorded it but there's a link to some festival footage of us playing it live in the south of England. Apologies for the sound quality.
