At least it will be in the family and you can probably drive it from time to time! | | | | Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 5,096 Crusing in the Passing Lane | Crusing in the Passing Lane Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 5,096 | Also, what he wants to do with it? Is that realistic?

With him once a week don't want to build him a truck. I want to sell the truck he has offered 2500 I think it's a fair number just don't know the value I bought it to 500. But I've seen all original in good condition go for5500 | | | | Joined: Oct 2015 Posts: 67 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2015 Posts: 67 | He want to 5.9 diesel it lower it put on pickup bed | | | | Joined: Apr 2013 Posts: 172 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2013 Posts: 172 | If this is his first project I would say no way. Does he have a Garage? tools? welder? air compressor? 10,000 in the bank? previous experience with good results? lots of spare time? TV makes it look so easy.

My son in law is always asking about different projects, I tell him that I don't mind helping him some but, I have enough of my own major projects and he needs to be able to have a place, tools, and time etc to do it on his own. I'll help if he gets stuck, but not come over and do it for him or even be with him the whole time. | | | | Joined: Oct 2015 Posts: 67 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2015 Posts: 67 | Guys thanks. He is starting to reading the bolt site. He is in the military he has time between tours but his pockets are shallow, as you know they pay are soldiers well!! So they live of a nurses salary of my daughter. And I don't want to commit to a build for him. Racing season will soon start my two race cars will keep me busy . I was trying to decide and this helps to decide firm my thoughts. Any body interested in a COE | | | | Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 1,159 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 1,159 | Got any pic's of the C.O.E.? All I see on your "Photobucket" link,is your '49. Nice work. $5,500,is fair,if the brakes/tires are All New,and it Runs Good.2-tons need to be in really good shape to command that kind of price.Need tires?-$1,000. Brakes?-$1,000. Does it run good? Add $1,000. To each his own, too. Last year,I posted a '56 2-ton,with a locked engine for a guy 100 miles north of me. He was asking $700.00,and I thought that Maybe someone local would buy it. I,myself figured that it was worth Maybe $500.00,since it needed a lot of body work,as well. It went to Georgia, and is in the process of a full restore! Post it in the "Swap Meet,(With Pic's,and a Full description-Don't forget to post price),and see what happens. | | | | Joined: Oct 2015 Posts: 67 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2015 Posts: 67 | I'll add some pics. It's in the pasture behind shop. Does not run body is all rust but 80%. Very sound project. I'll maybe get to it. But I'm really wanting 47-54 like it better . Want to stretch a cab for . I'm more into the build . And left them original so they are terrible to drive. I'm new to posting pics I'm trying to post a47 that I just bought that has the sheet metal I have seen. Google is eliminating "Picasa",and starting "Google Photos". I was suscribed to "Photobucket",but I have BETTER results with "Google". If your photos aren't "Saved" in a "File on your computer,Do This First. Once you have the file(s) copied,right-click the image(s) that you want up-loaded,and "Right-Click" "Desktop Shortcut". Sign-in to "Google",go to the "Apps" page,(the 9 little squares in the upper right hand corner, and left-click. Scroll down to "Google Photos",and "Right-Click".There should be an option to "Up Load Photos to "Google"-"Drag and Drop". Left-click the link, keep the button on the mouse depressed,as you "Drag' the image to be up-loaded to the "Google Screen". Once the images are up-loaded,go to "Google Photos",and check out your pic's. Right-Click on the ones that you want to "Link' to "Stovebolt.com". Highlight the "Address Bar","Left-Click",keep button on mouse depressed until complete address is highlighted. "Right-Click "Copy URL". Go to "Stovebolt.com,(or anywhere else you'd like to share your photo's. you may then "Edit' your previous post,or start a "New" one. Type-in your message, then "Right-Click". Left-Click "Paste",and the "Google URL" should appear on your "Stovebolt" post. It may take a few tries to get it at first, but, you'll get the hang of it. | | | | Joined: Jan 2016 Posts: 21 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jan 2016 Posts: 21 | I'm so glad I have no extra money, I'd have to move. I think I am over the limit for Cool trucks in California! That aside I use photobucket its free and does a decent job of hosting, plus its nice to have pictures somewhere incase of a computer crashing!
