I purchased an IFS from a 1985 XJ6 for my 1946 pickup.

What is pressure and flow rate specs for the Series 3 Jags?

I am using a 1956 235 with AC compressor on the bottom and alternator on the top. The problem becomes where to mount the P/S Pump.

I am considering a P/S pump with a remote reservoir but I cannot find any specs on the flow rate and pressure requirements for the Jag. Can anybody help me identify a remote pump?

I have the stock saginaw pump from the Jag. I read that the pressure relief valve can be transferred to another pump. I cannot believe that switching to a remote pump is that simple.

Thanks for the help.

Can you use the stock Saginaw pump?

Yes, maybe but please recognize that the AC Compressor is located where the Generator used to be. One belt goes to crankshaft and water pump. The second pulley on the AC goes vertical to the Alternator above the manifolds. The only space is above the AC Compressor somewhere. I might be able to use the stock pump but it would be really really tight plus the tank may be too close to the exhaust manifold.

I hoped to put the pump next to the alternator so that I could make a triangle with a belt from the AC Compressor and the Alternator. A remote reservoir would make this a lot easier in packaging and fabricating.

Be creative guys. I am looking for ideas.

Is there a remote mounted electric pump that would suit your build?

The Toyota MR2 electro/hydraulic pump has 1000#'s pressure, right for your Jag, draws 4 amps at idle and max of 40 amps when against the stops. Can be mounted anywhere and lines run to your box. Kia also has one but the Toyota is all self contained. Speedway has compact pumps with remote reservoir.

Electric is a great idea as long as it's not too pricey. I will start looking at the MR2 pump.

Thank you
