I have a signed title, but the truck does not have any lighting at all. Will this be an issue? Is there an initial inspection required for "antique" or "classic" plates?
I would ask at our local tax collector's office but... they're slightly incompetent.

It has all the information you need. Looks like you'll need an inspection so yes the lighting is going to be an issue for you. I live in Missouri and I got by really easy getting my 48 registered. Not so easy in Texas. Good luck. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 4,066 Bolter | | Bolter Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 4,066 | with the 5yr antique plates you do not have to get an inspection, how ever the vehicle can not be used for a daily driver... only to shows, parades, maintenance and such... even though you would not have to have it inspected you still would not want to drive it at dark, you for sure would get a ticket for that you would still have to go to your local tax office and get it register, prof of ins, title and such and pay the tax this may help you out

Then when it is ready, get it inspected and tagged. Only for regular registrations.
On a side note, I didn't get renewal papers for my travel trailer because it hasn't been inspected since new. Is that because the lighted plate-holder is in the rear?
Is a lighted plate holder a requirement.

I have never seen anyone run only a front and I suspect running none on the rear would be a reason for a traffic stop.
