I did put it in the front but not sure on the rear fenders . There was no fender welt between rear fenders and bed on any 47-55 pick-up truck. There was fender welt between rear fenders and body on all panel body trucks. | | | | Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 246 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 246 | What about the front fenders

I will bet the fitment issues between the cab and fenders is exactly why welting was used on the front fenders. Carl

If the truck was used as a truck welting on the bed fenders would be a good crud trap. | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,262 Bubba - Curmudgeon | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,262 | With or without welting between bed and rear fenders, the gap between them would be a good crud trap.
I plan to use a strip or two of 30# roofing tar-paper between rear fenders and bed (as long as that paper does not "show").
Nonetheless, it is your truck - use what you want/like. | | |
