Here is the problem when you move something from one shop to another. Trying to mate the transmission to the drive shaft, you will see both have male ends, so a coupling must be needed. Somehow it has been lost or something. Does anyone know where i can find a replacement or am i screwed? Any idea what its technically called?

Hy Bradw1876, what you need is the forward universal joint assembly which will include the two female yokes, hope that helps.

Do you have a 3-speed or 4-speed trans, it makes a difference.

Awesome thanks Mike! So I know my 235 is out of a 58 Chevy and I am not sure if the transmission is as well. I know the drive shaft and the transmission have 10spline shafts. Do you think the part you listed for the four speed will work?

Brad,

The driveshaft yoke's are the same for 3-speed and 4-speed's, it's the trans yokes that are different. You still haven't said if you have a 3 or 4 speed???

If in dought ask the seller to measure the diameter and count the splines of their yokes and confirm with what you have.

My guess is if you have a 4-speed, the 4-speed joint will work.

Let us know how it work out!
