Here is the problem when you move something from one shop to another. Trying to mate the transmission to the drive shaft, you will see both have male ends, so a coupling must be needed. Somehow it has been lost or something. Does anyone know where i can find a replacement or am i screwed? Any idea what its technically called?

You need a yoke

Try posting in the big bolt section or parts wanted section of forum

I don't believe they are reproduced, but not sure.

Maybe some one will post the GM part number for 3600 yoke or what other years will fit

eBay is another source

yeah thats what i was afraid of. we haven't been able to find a reproduction. We even have another alleged 3600 chassis on site, but it just has a u-joint out of the back of the transmission.

You will need 3/4 ton u-joint assembly with yokes ($$)

Is there also a drive-shaft extension that is needed for the Chevrolet 3/4 ton? Maybe someone (like Denny) has photos?

If you can come up with a GM part #

of what you need.

I'll give you my best shot parts search.

I search only for GM NOS parts.

I'm not into used or made in china parts.

I can't promise you any search results.

If I can't find it NOS...it probably can't be found

or you'll just have to get real lucky & run into one.

Give me the part number you need. I'll see if I can

find one NOS.

Is this what you need ???

A friend of mine bought this one on ebay in 2013

for his 1950 3600.

If that's the part you need.

Dan's GM Obsolete
Chinook, Montana
phone: 406-357-2615

Dan's has ( 6 ) GM NOS - GM # 3689288 in stock.

You can also send Bruce Bugay in Virginia an email.

He may have one. Give him the part number.

email: Bwbugay@aol.com

Bruce buys & sells Chevy parts in his retirement,

There's one on ebay now @ $69.95

Go to ebay & type in the part # in the search box.

This one on ebay.....in the description

it says, USED ! Plus $18.65 shipping

That's $88.60 for used in unknown condition.

To me that's a lot of money for used.

I'd rather have GM NOS. But everyone to their

own way of doing things. Most here on stovebolt would

rather have used or made in china parts.

ebay USED U-joint

I see you got an answer in the parts wanted forum.

The seller only wants $250.00 plus shipping for a used

one.

The 3600 you have "on site" is probably a '54 or later. They had
an open drive shaft off the 4 speed. The earlier ones had the
closed front half of the drive shaft.
Like George posted, if you can find NOS parts grab them no
matter what the cost, they are very rare.
