Hi, William from western, Ne. My project is a 1959 Chevrolet Apache 36 fleetside pickup that I purchased in south central Kansas in 1998. only paid 50$ for it and it has been sitting on my farm since. started working on it in nov. of 2015. the main problem is finding the broken front left apache 36 emblem on the left front fender. In all of my searches on the internet, I can only find up to a chevrolet apache 35. any help would be appreciated. My wife Terri and I realy like our trucks. this truck will be our classic truck out of 5 trucks that we drive. no cars. We also have a 61 chevy truck that we want to get started on .

William, good evening and Welcome to Stovebolt. You can't go wrong being here. Great guys and knowledge galore.
Always like the trucks with the dual headlight and maybe one day one will drop in when I lease expect it.

Take some time to get to know the site. There is tons of stuff in the Tech Tip section along with many links to vendors for parts. Check out the Gallery pictures and watch for others from your area. I'm sure some are close by so keep an eye on the post.

The Swap Meet here works pretty good so make a post in the Parts Wanted Forum for the emblem your looking for. Many times some bolters may not have one but know where one is at.
In general, any questions you have will get better results in the Forum most suited to your question. Example, engine questions in the Engine forum and so on.

You are also monitored for the first 4 post here. That's a Stovebolt rule we have to keep the sight user/family friendly and keep out spammers and such. After 4 post you can then send PM's (private messages) to others and enjoy all the Bolt has to offer.
See you around the garage and good luck.

Oh, and your a lucky man. There's something about a pickup Woman. Hang on to her smile

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.

Welcome William. If your main problem is finding a fender emblem, you're doing pretty good. 50 bucks is a fraction of the scrap value, you did good there too. Does it have the 283 or a six?

Pretty sure it is a 283, the front motor mounts were hand made so I can't be sure if it is the original motor. the motor does have the cartridge type filter so, I'm pretty sure it is from the right era. I tried doing a number search on the vin.number and came up with nothing. Is there a site here that can do the search?

William, get the engine number off the little pad on the left front of the engine and post that number in the Engine Forum, and someone will decipher it for you.

....and post you vin# in the General truck forum, or maybe the Driveline Forum and someone will also decipher it.

....OR go to the tech tips and scroll down to you get to Identifying your truck and you'll see Vin Buster. This is what you should see...or even use this link.
