I am nearing the end of a 13 month "quick" rebuild of Howard Knapp...I bought a complete exhaust system from Chev of the 40's and I cant for the life of me figure out how the muffler strap and the muffler bracket is supposed to work together...I have been on this website searching for photo and the internet also....it is a funky looking about 1" wide and about a 16 gauge in thickness with a very distinct curl on one and a "T" handle threaded rod with a nut on it...
I am sure someone on here has hung these things...my manual is very vague as to how it is supposed to work together...
Any photos would be a wonderful thing...

On my 52 panel the bracket attaches overhead. One end of the strap fastens on one side of the bracket and then you wrap it under and around the muffler and fasten it in the other side of the bracket and tighten it with the T handle.....but your 1 ton may be different from my 1/2 panel??

Each end of the strap is bent to fit the diameter of the muffler. One end of the strap go through a slot in the hanger/bracket and the other end of the strap goes through eye/opening in the threaded bolt that tightens the strap against the muffler. My truck is a 1 ton ...
Just wondering out loud...
I am way closer than I was last night to understanding these parts and how they all fit together...
