I'm looking for suggetions for engine paint for a '53 gmc pickup engine. Something with a good combination of correct (or close to correct), good adhesion, longevity,etc. Thanks, dyna

That would be enamel. Just make sure you get the block clean.

POR-15 has about the best engine paint. You can brush it on or spray it on.

I've had good luck with Dupli-Color engine paint with " Ceramic".....They make an excellent primer..The secret is the primer..plus cleaning of course...The other secret is to give a second coat within minutes before the first coat is completely dry..... smile smile

Second verse.. smile smile ...Dupli-Color's engine primer must be good...I primered an inline exhaust manifold with their gray primer and it didn't burn off completely....Left it a kinda dull gray...Beats rust color.!... smile smile
