For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2000 Posts: 2,074 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2000 Posts: 2,074 | Going with a small Holley 4 barrel on this 235, need options for a throttle/gas pedal and cable set up. I've seen trucks that kept the stock pedal, that's what I'd like if possible. Thanks

You will see that by changing the position of the arm that has the rod to the carb that arm can become a puller instead of a pusher. A short cable can then be used to the carb throttle lever. The end of the cable at the bell crank has to be clamped so just the cable and not the housing moves. A lot of work when a Lokar set up can be installed in 30 minutes. For just the "pedal look" you could grind the rubber socket off the bottom of the factory pedal and let the Lokar pedal arm slide on the underside of the factory pedal. With the spoon removed and and painted flat black most wouldn't notice.

The stock rod from the pedal ran through a hole in this plate and the flex cable was connected there as a puller, similar to your instructions. If I remember the stock rod was bent at the tip to attach to the end of cable. Many thanks for the feed back. Now just need to make it work. Jim | | |
