The basic configuration seems alright, but it seems like it was made for an engine with a shorter deck height. I have looked at all the different parts vendors, and they all only offer 1 fuel line for 1966 I6 engines. My question is, is the 292 taller, and should have a different fuel line than the smaller 6 cylinders? | | | | | Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 5,228 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 5,228 | Isn't the fuel pump on a 292 in the center of the engine, while the 230-250 is in the front? Doesn't make since that it would almost fit, it should be way off in bends and hight.

Since the same camshaft fits all those engines, the relative position of the pump wouldn't change, just the height. How about adding a couple of inches of height to the line with a short section of straight tubing and a couple of compression unions, if you want to use the pre-bent line?
I'd just get a piece of straight steel tubing and a bender, and make my own line. Jerry

I realize that it's a different body, but wouldn't the engine specs still be the same as 66, or did they relocate some components that would get in the way? | | | | | Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 5,228 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 5,228 | The 292 fuel pump is between the two side covers at camshaft hight, the 230-250 is about midway on the front side cover, at camshaft hight. The line is either bent wrong, or for a different engine. The tall deck engine, 292, is 1.75" taller then the low deck 230-250s.
