I have a 1958 1/2 ton 3200 with 123 1/4" wheel base. My truck currently has a utility box on it. My question is will a step side box fit on the longer wheel base?

My 58 is a 3200 and has the factory step side bed. You can see pictures of it by following the link in my signature. Obviously, it's a longer bed than the one used on the 3100, but the 3200's were available with step sides.

Are you asking if a Short bed step side or a Long bed step side will fit?
Yes a "step side" will fit.

Here's a page from my Cab and Chassis brochure from 1959. Lots of measurements and other related information that may help you.
Cheers.

Thanks for all of the quick responses. I have more to work with now. I also do not want to get rid of the utility box, so I am thinking of making a trailer with the utility box.

Ideas are a dime a dozen, let's see what gets done.

According to page T-1 (pdf page 5)of the 1958 Chevrolet Truck Specification Manual https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/do...hevrolet-Trucks/1958-Chevrolet-Truck.pdf

1958 Light Duty Truck Series 3200 available as:
3203 - Cab & Chassis
3204 - Stepside Pickup
3234 - Fleetside Pickup

A matching utility box trailer would be trick!

Hot Rod John, Your link to the GM Heritage Center is great. Thanks for your info. I plugged a different year in and it gave me that years info. What a great resource. Thanks again.
