Is there a difference in the chevy vs gmc fenders? From pictures of chevy big bolts the fenders dont look as wide. Also will chevy fenders bolt right up to a gmc? Those fenders are the same as the 2-1/2 ton Chevrolet Series 80 & 100 (58/59) trucks. For the small amount of rust I see you will be WAY ahead to just repair what you have. Finding those fenders new will cost more than what the body man would charge to professionally fix them and used will look just like what you have... Its not the rust that made me look for different fenders, I was looking to see if another truck had the same fenders dimensionally but had a smaller flare. The large flare was used to accommodate the larger tires that could be installed (10.00 20's etc.). The 1958/59 Chevrolet series 40, 60, 80 & 100 all used the same fender, thats 1-1/2 ton thru 2-1/2 ton, so I'm betting GMC did the same. The small fenders fit the 30 Series (1/2 thru 1 ton) and the large fender fit the 40, 60, 80 & 100 Series (1-1/2 thru 2-1/2 ton). So, if you want to build a 1 ton truck you might want to find a 1 ton donor truck. It would give you the smaller fenders/front clip, smaller frame, smaller springs & hangers etc...just a thought. '37 GMC T-18 w/ DD 4-53T, RTO-610, 6231 aux., '95 GMC running gear, full disc brakes, power steering, 22.5 wheels and tires.
'47 GMC 1 ton w/ 302, NP-540, 4wd, full width Blazer front axle.
'54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed.
'55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.
