Chevy VINs are tagged on the inside door opening (1x3inish tin tag riveted) and on the drivers side frame rail just aft of the steering gearbox. Maybe GMC the same, but my book did not confirm.
Welcome to the pages.

do a google search for :

Where is my 60-66 Chevy or GMC vin number?

There is a link to a thread that will come up that has diagrams and photos of vins on the different 60-66 models.

good luck.

Ive never seen a 60-66 GMC truck that has the Vin number stamped on the frame. the only vin is on a stainless tag on the cab door frame.
