I'm seeing trucks for sale without it. Is it a common modification to remove it? | | | | Joined: Dec 2013 Posts: 31 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2013 Posts: 31 | Well, I just found a manual online and this is what it says:
"Starter Control. Ignition key starting is provided on Forward Control models, automatic transmission equipped models and all V-8 models. A starter pedal located near the center of the toe board to the right of the accelerator pedal is used on other truck models." The V8 trucks did not use that method and they used a 3 position ignition switch (off/on/start).
