We are going to be in London for 3 weeks in May. I have just discovered that May 17 is the FA Cup at Wembley.

Is this akin to the US Super Bowl? Should I plan on being somewhere else that day?

I hate mobs.

Jim,it's not quite on a par with Superbowl but pretty important to folks here.
It will be pretty hectic though,if crowds aren't your thing, best to steer clear....

Here I am, more than a year and a half later, filled with memories of three weeks in May in London. What a great city!

We generally stayed away from the touristy things, and just walked all over or used the Tube. Londoners really love their city, and they love to share it.
The only rude people we came across were a group of obnoxious Swedish college idiots, and a gang of Spanish teenagers.

In June, we're headed for Bath, the Cotswolds, and Wales. I hope to see some Welch narrow gauge railroads.
