Is this akin to the US Super Bowl? Should I plan on being somewhere else that day?

It will be pretty hectic though,if crowds aren't your thing, best to steer clear.... 1950 Chevy Advance Design 3100 in ScotlandIn the Stovebolt GalleryMore pix on Flickr. We generally stayed away from the touristy things, and just walked all over or used the Tube. Londoners really love their city, and they love to share it. The only rude people we came across were a group of obnoxious Swedish college idiots, and a gang of Spanish teenagers.
In June, we're headed for Bath, the Cotswolds, and Wales. I hope to see some Welch narrow gauge railroads.

You'll find the pace of life a little less frantic there than the big smoke Jim,enjoy! 1950 Chevy Advance Design 3100 in ScotlandIn the Stovebolt GalleryMore pix on Flickr.
