You can purchase them through quite a few vendors ie: Summit Racing, Speedway Motors, Pertronix, Jegs, etc. Just type in Smithy mufflers and a host of websites will come up. Hope this helps.

But my real question is I understand they are not made in the USA and are less quality than and not same sound as originals. Is there any place you can buy originals made in USA or is there another muffler made in USA that has the same sound as Smithys. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 165 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 165 | I just bought a set of Porters that are made in Minnesota. They have the old school muffler sound. I have not installed them yet on my truck, but I loved the sound on previous vehicles back in the day. They are a steel pack muffler. Many choices out there to choose from. Kevin

Unfortunately most of the parts made today are not manufactured in the good ol' USA. Not sure if the Smithys mufflers are still made here, but if you telephone Speedway Motors they should be able to tell you if the Smithys are still made in the USA, or suggest a muffler that still is.

I never heard mine really good because I was driving, maybe Cletis can vouch for mine, he was behind me when i made the trip to Kc in 2006.. best trip I ever had in my 52 I bought mine from these folks...

Mine are aging and sound better than when I first put them on. I've heard tales that some may be sold "as" Smithy's but aren't. Make sure the name is on the muffler. There was also a thread a while back where there was some "questions" about how its actually spelled but I won't open that can of worms!....but some knock-off clown may try to do just that.
