The pictures show the lamp and the pattern that I now have. I use it mostly to throw more light to the front but I'd still like to get it right. Should the pattern be horizontal or vertical? Should it be aimed a little low and to the right a bit? Thanks! Fog Light. Fog Light Pattern. . . . 1948 3/4-Ton 5-Window Flatbed Chevrolet 33 Years. We used to aim them by measuring the height of the light and them aiming them at a spot about 30 feet away on the same horizontal plane. They really didn't work that well but it helped some. We usually had them hooked directly to the battery with a toggle switch in a handy spot. In those days it was not that uncommon for headlights to go out. If that happened, you could flip a toggle switch and have some light.

A lot of thick shore fog in New England so you would be driving slow so aimed 2 to 3 car lengths ahead. take the height to the center of the lamp, divide it by 3 and drop that amount for every car length. | | | | Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 864 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 864 | usually 4 inches below the low beams at 20 feet out.... | | | | Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 28,674 Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) | Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 28,674 | Lucas flamethrowers on a momentary-contact starter button- - - - -windshield height to the guy who won't dim his lights!
