Good afternoon everyone. I had a question in regards to compatibility between my motor and truck. I have a 194 off of of 62-63 Nova in my 1951 Chevy 3100. I was wondering if anyone has a similar setup. My concern is that the engine is too small for this truck. Is this set up ok? Should I upgrade motors? Your opinion is appreciated.

Thank You.

A 194 is a seven main bearing engine and almost indestructible.
If it has enough power for you I say run it.

The 62 194 had about 120 hp. The 216 had 85. The 235 had 92.

If decide you don't like the power output, a 230 or 250 will be a direct bolt in swap. A 292 will also fit the same area with a few modifications to the side motor mounts.

My 250 has 120 hp at flywheel and about 100 hp at the ground. It will move my 3300 lb truck easy enough.

Thanks for all the reply's guys. I don't plan on towing anything with it or any heavy use. Just wanted to be sure it'd do ok on the freeway and just all around general use.
