I'm looking for a shop in North Carolina, especially ones close to Charlotte, that does restorations. If anybody knows of one they would recommend or owns one themselves, please email me at geek@stovebolt.com. I'm asking for a nephew.

Paul, what kind of vehicle does he have. We have TWO restoration shops here in Spartanburg that do some mighty fine work. However, one shop is predominantly Mopar. The other does about anything. I was over there about a week ago and they were finishing up a very nice 5 window pickup.

We're about 70 miles from Charlotte and only a couple miles off interstate 85.

.....I can also ask Mike or Victor, or Lee, if they know someone around that area that is reputable. I would think they would since these guys have been doing this for some time. Let me know your thoughts.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.

There is a fellow named Russ Petty that does AD,s (and others) who has a good hourly rate and lives near the Speedway. If you jump over to the Classic Parts site he wrote the article on "How to Restore an AD". It's at the top of the page on the 47-54 Forum. Many use it as a guide when doing their own. He goes by the name of "ol chebby" on that site.

Thanks.

I found a Russ Petty in Charlotte, but he's a muralist. I don't think he's the guy you're talking about. Do you have a link?
