KMAC  All 1947.2 - 1955.1 OUTSIDE stainless door trims are identical & will interchange to any Advance Design truck. The INSIDE trims are the ones that are different. It is tough to "notch" the inside '47-'50 trims to fit the '51-'55.1 doors with the vent windows as the earlier trim is narrower & won't lip on the door correctly. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 10,280 Renaissance Man | | Renaissance Man Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 10,280 | I have seen this SS piece on a 54 truck (with vent windows). A Google search of "Polishing Stainless Steel" will bring up
enough info to keep you reading the rest of the day. Anything
from using your Harbor Freight 1/4" drill to big old full
sized buffing pads mounted on Baldor buffers that will take
your trim out of your hand and throw it across the room.
Buffing is easy, fun and very rewarding in the way it looks,
after the mess is cleaned up.
Note: just make sure it really is SS and not chrome plating
that your buffing.

Steel will give it a strong pull.
I would say that any of the kits would have the same or similar
buffing compounds. Your SS trim should already be polished,
all you need do is buff out the minor surface scratches that
have accumulated over the years. Sort of a tough up.
