I need input on the best way to paint the graphics on my newly chromed grille, and grille emblem. The original was sprayed is there a stencil available to aid in doing this? Also what is the name of the blue color used on the grille and hubcaps. Thanks, Scott

I used sanded the chrome then used an etching primer. I taped and cut each lrtter with an exacto knife.

What did you sand with, scotchbrite or sand paper, and what grit? I'm scared to skuff my grille but I know it is necessary for the paint to stick and it looks better with the letters highlited. By the way your truck looks awesome!

I would not sand the chrome with anything. An alcohol based metal prep solution should clean the surface for a paint bond.

I was advised by a local good restorer to lightly sand or bead blast the wide band that runs across the top of lower grill, then primer and paint. the other stripes and details of emblem did with pinstripe tape and wider red and blue tape which I applied then trimmed with an exacto knife.

I used 600 grit silicone carbide ,wetdry, then the etching primer. Thanks for the complement.
