Hi Bryce I have been thinking the exact same thing as you as I am really thinking about selling mine when I get it done...it is just like what you are talking about...mine is a 9 foot box 1 ton (I took the dumping mechanic-ism off of it)...I did also down grade to a 6 lug front and rear end...I will tell you this...1 tons are an odd truck for sure... If you do figure out how much yours is worth please post it up as I would be very interested in the numbers... MikeC

It had an original rebuilt 235 and 4 speed, repainted the original body color, he swapped the axles out from a mid 80s truck, and changed it over to 12 volt.
After about 8 months ( if i remember correctly) of posting and re-posting ads for it on craigslist / local newspapers, his price eventually went down to about $4500.
I tried to keep track of what happened to the truck, I'm thinking that either he couldn't go any lower without losing money, and gave up trying to sell it, Or he ended up parting the truck out.
The thing with these trucks is that they are not always great for flipping and making money (especially the 1 ton + larger trucks)- and in my experience, the further away from stock the truck is, the less it is worth (depending on the quality of work, and other misc. factors, of course)
With that said, doing a "Just fixed up driver" wouldn't bring any more than about 4-6 grand(from what I've seen, at least). In order for someone to REALLY dish out money for a truck, it must be the truck of their dreams, or at least a truck that is actually worth having, and not just half-[censored]ed, semi-restored work truck. (No offense! Im not calling Your truck that, just talking about these types of trucks in general)
But hey, I'm just one person, and my price figures are based off of my local towns truck ads over the past year or so. Hopefully things work out in your favor, Good luck!
