Plan on a full day and be careful to mask to prevent overspray around tight corners.
a good fade only requires 2 colors and careful transition from light color to darker.
Your design is the most important part of good flames. Crappy design won't make up for nice paint work.
Consider getting assistance from an old hand at this stuff and learn some of the tricks... or hire it out. What you'd spend on the "KIT" stuff you could get a real pro to assist you.
Regarding the Pearl nothing new about adding a dry product to your paint or clear.... just spend your money on good product.... save you some headaches.
