You will need a clutch alignment tool.

Now how do i align the trans spline/shaft into the clutch disc? | | | | | Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 10,271 Renaissance Man | | Renaissance Man Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 10,271 | Cut the heads off of two 5 inch bolts which will fit in the two top holes of the clutch housing. Cut slots in the end of them for ease of installation and removal. These are called guide bolts and will make installing the transmission a breeze.
As you slide the transmission into place, manually turn the output shaft (transmission in gear) until the input shaft splines line up with the clutch disc hole.

When you get close you can turn the tail shaft to engage the clutch splines. It also helps if the tail of the trans can be tilted a little to line it up as you go in. The guide pins in the above post are most helpful.

The problem is corrected,while pulling the pressure plate down(with the alin, tool) the clutch disc moved enough to not allow the shaft to go in the engine. Loosened the bolts,got it right. | | |
