Do I need to put anything in the cylinders before attempt to start after it up after sitting for three years? About a year ago I put Marvels Mystery Fluid in all the cylinders to keep it Luke.

I would suggest you pull the plugs and turn the engine over with distributer wire disconnected to get some engine oil where it needs to be before 'kicking the tires, and lighting the fire'.

Take the distributor out and with a large screwdriver shaft chucked in your electric drill, run the oil pump. This primes the oil pump and allows oil to flow into the engine, rocker assembly, everything. Have you got any bookmarked old chevy manuals or an obsolete paper type laying around? They're usually way more accurate than a forum.... unless HRL it talkin. Then I usually go with his advice.
The forum is a Supplement to the manual not a substitute IMO.

Even a movie showing how to do it. Then break off the handle on your biggest flat tip screwdriver and you are in business. Just heed the warnings about getting it seated properly. | | |
