I have a 1938 2 wheel drive. Two general questions for the group:

1. Is there an easy way to tell whether it is a half or 3/4 ton?

2. What is the bolt pattern for the wheels on this truck?

Here is 1938 wheel/tire information.
I did not see number of wheel nuts (but, I'll keep looking).

Other identification information is in that Specifications Manual.

Can you find serial numbers? Here are locations/codes.

I always thought the 3/4 ton trucks had a longer bed and wheel base. If the bed has three stake sides per side, then it should be a 3/4 ton.

Joe, it says right there on the first page of your link. The half ton has a 112" wheelbase and the 3/4 ton has a 122-1/4" wheelbase, same as the one ton.

Both 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton will have 6 lug nut wheels and two stake pockets in the bed. I believe you should find 3/4 ton bed a bit over 7' long. 1/2 ton rear axle over rear springs. 3/4 ton under rear springs, same as my 39.

I didn't want to for sure they had longer beds, because someone would come along prove me wrong.

I almost extended my 1/2 ton frame out to put a long bed on it for a better ride, wish now I would have done it.
