Anybody know where you can get the front engine mount for a 261 in a 1962 gmc pick up,it is a single piece rectangular shaped mount. All the mounts I can locate are the side mount style.

I don't believe a gmc came with a 261 engine, that was a chevy engine out of a larger (1 1/2) tn truck/bus.

I can't offer any advise on the 261 mount. But this may help you out, I have a 283 sbc in my 1950 3600 and I used the horse shoe mount from a '60-'61 v-8 chevy truck. The holes in the horse shoe mount match (visually) to the mounting system from earlier 6cyl AD truck front mounting system.

I just used the cover, plate, rubber biscuit and housing from an AD truck.

Go to one of the venders sites and look at a mount from a 1952 chevy and see if that's the one You're looking for could be that when someone installed that engine they used a early mount.

NOTE: GMC kid 7530 - Vancouver BC

Canadian GMC's used "Chevrolet" engines (216, 235, 261, for examples) in some/smaller trucks.
