Does anyone know if a 1954 GMC Panel can use rear fenders from an earlier Chevy Panel?

Yes - Panel/Suburban fenders were the same through the whole run as far as I know. Better get MT to verify this though cause he's the panel fenderman - the walrus - koo koo kaachoo.

Thanks for the replys.

Splashoil, what did you say about captive nuts? There is so much crud on the underside of my fenders that I haven't had a chance to study how they connect to the rest of the body.

Those captive nuts are for the bolts attaching the fenders. Be patient, slosh 'em a few times with some type of oil. I had a hell of a time with mine, some came off with the sheet metal from the body--more patch/repair. You might try some carefully applied heat, then slosh 'em while they are warm. You don't need exotic spray penetrants for this, heavier oil is probably better, higher flash to fire point and all.... :p

OldkarKook !! See how they fly like lucy in the sky............ Those panel fenders were all the same from '47- 55 1st series 1/2 ton to 1 ton GMC & Chev.
Suprisingly enough the stainless trim on these fenders was only avaliable in the panel van & not in the suburban models.
