Gentlemen,

How fast (mph) would a stock 1936 truck with original 206 engine run?

My only experience is with a 216 and 235. I can get those up to about 60-70 mph in my stock vehicles. I just want to know what to expect from a 206 motor??

With final drive ratio and tire rolling diameter you can calculate it based on max engine RPM.

Unless top speed is drag limited; in that case you will probably still reach top speed as long as you can find a steep enough hill...

https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=gm+heritage+1936+chevrolet+truck

Click on the first result pdf 1936.

You will find a graph saying top speed is 75.
You will also find a page that says max rpm is 3,800, and that for every 50 rpm you will go 1 mph. So 3,800/50 = 76 mph.

If, on the other hand, you are asking about a maximum sustainable speed - or a maximum economical cruising speed - the answers will be different.

75 mph will blow that sucker to smithereens fairly promptly, I think.

Top speed is never sustainable, head winds, load changes, grade changes. And that truck was not built to run flat out all the time.

Though I think everyone may not to go that fast they still want to know what their old car, truck, motorcycle, can do.

Yea I likely won't push it to go 70mph.
maybe 50-60 tops on the highway. I just wanted to understand the limitations so I don't push it to hard.

Thanks!
