The seat frame in my 49 pick-up is clearly a different type of paint that the rest of the interior. Does anyone know any numbers or names of the proper paint. Also, should it be used only on the lower panels or is the entire frame, including the bar surrounding the seat back, the same colour?
After five years of restoration, it's exciting to be thinking about paint!

I thought that the interior was painted all the same color. Mine is a GMC, but I think the Chevys were painted in the same way. Maybe the person who had the truck before you did a little paint work? Cecil........

The interior of a 49 is all the same color. Remember, your truck is over 55 years old. It is a good bet a lot has been repainted. The original paint did not hold up well.

The original paint is usually called "champaign", but I do not know it's GM name. And no one seems to have a decent color code, but I find the interior paint from Chevy Duty to be very close to original.
