Has anyone ever tried to straighten the long center link bar going from wheel to wheel? Mine has a big bow in it like someone got hung up on a tree stump and gave it the gas. Is the steering that critical you could possibly bend it back or just trash it?

tie rod?

If it is just a bow, trying bending it back.

Then, reset the toe-in.

Or, post a Want Ad for a used tie rod, or buy a new replacement.

Ive straightened several of them. You will need to remove it & put it in a press. Often a tow truck operator will get a J hook around it instead of the axle. Sometimes a guy will put a jack under the axle to raise the truck & catch it.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.
