just curious fellow ad junkies if a 1948 fleetline front suspension will work in a 54 chevy and has anyone done this before? why are the 48 fleetlines 5 lugs but 54 chevy are not lol

Don't see why it wouldn't work, no different than any other IFS swap, you'll have to make it fit. Steering might be a little different to setup, if you use the stock linkage. You won't really gain much handling and brake wise compared to the more common Camaro or S 10 swap.
If the one you're looking at is 5 lug, though, it's not a '48. Chevrolet cars did not go 5 lug until the '49s.

ok so it is a 49 the frame measures the same width and length. It has about four five bolts and should bolt up with a few modifications I think. has anyone done this swap? just curious?

Why would anyone want to? There is nothing wrong with a properly maintained truck suspension. What do you expect to gain by installing an antique car suspension?

Edit - Correct Link to Swap
Personally if you're wanting to do this type of swap I'd use the 49-54 car suspension since it's the same as the Corvette.
HAMB link to info on swap.

yes it is a 49 and it all matches up perfect, plus it is cheaper and less modifications to make. Thank you for the link it solved most of my questions and since the parts were free, including a rear-end and drive shaft. I guess all my questions are answered1 again for you fellow bolters or novices there is really only one place to come to for info and or advice. www.stovebolt.com if they dont know I bet someone they do know does lol
