What color and what parts of the grille emblem are painted on a 1937 truck grille emblem?

Do you know of websites that might provide the answer? Thanks, Ralph

this question was answered just a little while back but can't remember where. Check back a few days/or week and see what you can find. The color is blue and red but I'm not sure who repainted mine so I want say for sure.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

37 emblem

I don't know if this is the right one, but it may help you with the colors.

I don't think the picture is a 37 even though it looks close. On my 37 the bowtie in the center is blue and the four "corners" around it are red. The two "wings" going out from the center of it has two small indentions and they are painted blue. I do not know if this is 100% correct but if I remember seeing an original some time ago I believe mine is the same as it was.

Thanks guys for the help. I was letting this become a road block and needed to get past it so I could get on with the reassembly of the truck. I used red on all of the recessed areas of the emblem and it looks good. However if this proves to be a mistake I figure I can repaint it, and I am now proceeding with reassembly.

I'm not ABSOLUTELY sure but I truly believe you have to have some BLUE in there somewhere! The same color of blue that is the background on the hood side emblems. The tech rep for VCCA is sixcylsovertexas (Joe Fuchs) and I'm sure he could tell you for SURE. If you like I can round up his phone # or look in the Generator/Distributor magazine under the tech rep for 37 pickup and he will be in it. I know its a small thing but if you don't have to redo it the time can be spent on other things smile

1936 truck emblem?

is this one like yours?

1938?

1937?

Sorry, I planned to get back to you sooner, here are some more emblems, let me know if you can identify the correct years for future refference. Thanks

Gimoniz....well, the one for the "38" appears to be the one I have on my 37 pickup. I suspect it may REALLY be a 38 as I was suspious because the headlight mounting brackets appeared to be off a 38...Mmmmmmmm Now i'm going to dig to be SURE!! We just never know sometime as farmers etc used what they had or could make work. I was even suspious that the radiator cowling was off a 38 but since I had a parts truck I use the one off it.....the parts truck had no emblem though. Now its time for me to dig out the 37 "books" again and see what emblem I really have....
