At this time I have a '56 235 engine in my '51 pickup. Will all my engine components fit on a 57 thru 62, 235 engine block? Second question, which is best to use solid lifters or hydraulic lifters?

1960-62 dropped the front throttle pivot provision needed for a 51 PU. My blog on the subject.
If done correctly I like hydraulic, but I am sure just as many like solids. Here is my blog post on hydraulic lifters.
The timing plate may need drilling for the front mount with any of these engines.
