I have seen some 2 and 3 carb manifolds in catalogs and 2 piece exhaust headers.

It has made me wonder if anyone has done that to a 216.

How much did those parts effect HP, MPG, acceleration, top speed?

And last how did running dual exhausts sound?

Exhaust is throaty and sweet. Speed parts on a 216 are eye candy.

Not much in the 216 for hp gains with those add ons.

Ditto- - - - -looks OK, runs terrible! The dual exhaust scavenging makes the carb(s) run lean and the loss of exhaust heat under the intake makes the engine cold-natured and almost impossible to tune. If you're building a trailer queen for the car show circuit, go for it- - - -otherwise, run away- - - -far, far away!

I don't know, I am using the set up from Langdons, and it runs quite well, I do have higher compression, and an RV style cam. I also used water heat. But it runs just fine.

Yes the manifolds I have seen allow for the intake to still be heated. Though it is my son's truck and he has no desire to put any "speed" parts on the truck.

Though I did hear some 216's on YouTube with dual exhaust and they sounded nice though it was not given/clear what other engine mods were done.
