I am planning on sandblasting my frame soon and then putting on Chassis Saver (paint).
What sould I clear the frame with after I am done sandblasting?
Should I use primer before the paint?
Chassis Saver is like Por-15,those who don't know about it.

It covered very well and seems to be very durable. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 5,205 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 5,205 | I towed my frame to the local car wash and used hot soapy water to clean it. Sandblasting leaves a lot of dirt and dust behind. When I got it home I used a leaf blower (electric 205mph wind) to dry it it out. The type of paint you are using will not care about the little suface rust that may form. I also did the same for the cab and doors. I have yet to see any sand fall out of anywhere nor did I have any sand in the paint.

I just used the nozzel from the sandblaster to make sure there was no sand left before painting. But what a mess of sand 1200lbs of sand in the back yard, and it will stick to everything you can think of, and will get into places you never thought of, keep all mechanical parts away such as motors tranni's rear ends the sand will find its way in. I did my motor & tranni outside and thought there where sealed.. NOT! found sand inside after taking them apart. You also must ware a full hood and a resperator!!! | | |
